From 1st October 2008 the Energy Performance of Buildings Regulations 2007 requires
all properties for sale or rent to have an Energy Assessment carried out.
Even if
the property does not require a full Home Information Pack because the property
has been on the market before the original deadline; vendors must from the 1st October
have an Energy Assessment carried out and supply a hard copy of the EPC to the successful
purchaser before contracts are exchanged.
Residential EPCs are also required when
first new tenant moves into a rented property after 1st October 2008
